of God to
man, the
infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (2Timothy 3:15-17;
1 Thessalonians 2:4; and 2 Peter 1:21)
2. The One True God.
a. The one true God has revealed
Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM", the creator
of heaven and
earth, and the redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as
embodying the
principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy
6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 20:19; Luke 3:22; and 1 John 5:7, KJV)
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. The Lord Jesus Christ is the
eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:
i.
His virgin birth, (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31 and 35)
ii. His
sinless life, (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)
iii. His miracles,
(Acts 2:22; 10:38)
iv. His
substitutionary work on the cross, (1 Corinthians 15:3 and 2 Corinthians
5:21)
v.
His bodily resurrection from the dead and, (Matthew 28:6 and Luke 24:39)
vi. His
exaltation to the right hand of the God the Father. (Acts 1:9 and Hebrews
1:3)
4. The Fall of Man.
a. Man was created good and upright
for God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness.":
However, man by voluntary transgression, fell and thereby incurred not
only
physical death,
but also spiritual death, which is separation from God, eternally in hell.
(Genesis 1:26,
2:17, 3:6; and Romans 5:13-19)
5. Salvation Through Grace.
a. There is no other name under
heaven than Jesus Christ of Nazareth given to men by which
we must be saved.
"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are
justified freely
by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." (Romans
3:23; Acts 4:10,12;
Romans 1:16; Acts 15:11)
i.
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your
heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with
your heart
that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you
confess and
are saved." (Romans 10:9,10)
ii. "Repent,
then, turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of
refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)
